"Blue House" Wan Chai
Private Tour

The Blue House in Wan Chai was built in 1922 and is a traditional tenement building. It has elements of the former "Wah Tor Temple" integrated into its iconic corner facade. As a grade-I historic building, the Blue House stands out with its terraced balconies and has been recognized with the Award of Excellence by UNESCO.

Join the Private Tour led by Nick Tsao, a resident of the Blue House and a part-time architect working for the Basel-based firm Herzog & de Meuron.

During the Private Tour, you will have the opportunity to see a preserved unit on the top floor, which lets you travel back in time to witness the compact sub-divided units of the past. Nick Tsao will open his home, which serves also as design studio for his papercutting art. He will share with a few words some interesting facts about the similarities between Chinese and Swiss papercutting art.

As number of participants is limited, your early registration is strongly recommended. Families with children aged 10 and above are welcome to attend this event. We recommend ensuring that the children are interested in the topic, as the tour will last 90 minutes.

If you like to get to know other SAHK members and enjoy a coffee together before the Private Tour, come at 10.00 AM to the “Alley Coffee” Shop (Shop A, 1 King Sing St, Wan Chai), which is conveniently located next to the meeting point for the Private Tour.
