This amazing tour for adults and children age 7 and above is taking us to the fields and forests surrounding abandoned farmlands on Lantau Island. Our guide Wanda is an experienced, passionate forager who knows how to identify edible and medicinal plants. Together we are going to search for wild vegetables, herbs, flowers, fruits and nuts. As we walk we will learn about plant identification, pattern recognition and unearth unique tastes in edible wild plants.
Itinerary:

Meet at Tai O bus stop, safety briefing and intro to foraging

Walk along the Lantau trail foraging through coastal and woodland areas and learning about the plants and coastal food

Snack and water break by the beach or by the waterfall

Forage on feral farmland at Yi O Farm where wild edibles are most abundant, with a number of medicinal plants in this area

Picnic lunch (self pack lunch). Washroom and filtered water refills are available.
Q&A session over lunch.

Walk out (approx. 50 min.) or taking speed boat*

Back in Tai O parking lot
*A speed boat is available upon request to take us back to Tai O (tide dependent). The cost is HKD 300 total and can take up to 14 people. It’s a 12 minute journey.

Members: HKD 550 p. adult, HKD 325 p. child under age of 12
Non-members: HKD 650 p. adult, HKD 325 p. child under age of 12
